A reboot that reconstructs the origins of one of gaming's most iconic adventurers, Tomb Raider follows a young and untested Lara Croft long before she becomes the hardened explorer of legend. Seeking the fabled lost kingdom of Yamatai, Lara and her companions set sail aboard a research vessel, only for a violent storm to wreck the ship and cast the survivors ashore on a remote, uncharted island. Stranded, injured, and separated from her friends, Lara must summon a resilience she never knew she possessed simply to stay alive in the hostile wilderness. But the island is far from deserted: it is home to a dangerous and fanatical cult that hunts the castaways for its own sinister ends. Forced to scavenge, fight, and endure, Lara sets out to rescue her scattered friends and find a way to escape, undergoing a harrowing transformation from frightened survivor into a capable and determined heroine.
