Top 10

01 Command & Conquer Command & Conquer 1995 · 138 ratings Experience the game that started it all! Enter a gritty, high-tech world and take advantage of electronic intelligence and covert surveillance to determine who reigns supreme. Join either the forces of the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) or the Brotherhood of Nod as you build bases, muster forces and dominate your enemies. All for the love of power. Play as the Brotherhood and obey the charismatic Kane’s every command or take control of GDI forces as they seek to save the world from Kane’s ambition. Gather Tiberium to produce tanks, infantry and more to decide the fate of the world. 94 /100 02 Suikoden Suikoden 1995 · 43 ratings Suikoden is a Japanese-style role-playing game with several unusual additions. There are three kinds of combat in the game, the most common one being the traditional turn-based party combat (players can have up to six people in their active party). Magic runes can be equipped on the player's characters which allow limited usage of offensive and healing spells. There are also a few army battles, where the player must control whole units of fighters, archers, magicians, etc., and one-on-one fights (duels). 92 /100 03 Rayman Rayman 1995 · 108 ratings Rayman is a side-scrolling platformer starring the titular Rayman, a big-nosed chap with no arms or legs. Rayman can jump and use his hair to hover for a short period of time. He can also attack by throwing his fists, or winding up his fists for a more powerful punch. He can occasionally find special power ups that grant him unlimited flying power, giving him the ability to navigate through tricky mazes. 84 /100
04 Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together 1995 · 33 ratings Tactics Ogre is a 3D isometric tactical role-playing game. The player starts out with a band of troops, builds a small army and fights many battles with choices to make in between, that will determine which one of the eight possible endings will be reached in a non-linear storyline. The player has the option to recruit characters, control individual equipment of each character, with over six male character classes, six female character classes, three demi-human classes, and more. It is also possible to train at safe locations to prepare the army before the next battle or storyline advancement. 87 /100 05 Worms Worms 1995 · 205 ratings Worms combines the best elements from the very best games ever created. It requires great thought, strategy and elements of sheer outrageous fortune. It provides the players with an almost infinite range of playing possibilities. It does take a little while to get into the swing of things however and despite everyone’s insistence that you should not need to read a game manual to be able to play it. Worms can be played by 1-16 players at the same time - it’s a turn based game so you`ll only need one machine - but prepare to be at odds with your loved ones, get ready to shout abuse at your best friend and be willing to exact unadulterated terror on those who plot to hurt your worms. Team17 planned on producing Worms for the Virtual Boy back in 1995. Though, after a few weeks, they cancelled this plan due to the lack of interest of the publisher and the expected failure of the Virtual Boy. 80 /100 06 Twisted Metal (1995) Twisted Metal (1995) 1995 · 62 ratings Twisted Metal consists of a series of arena-based battles against an increasing number of opponents in increasingly large arenas. These battles culminate in a face-off with the winner of the previous year's competition, Darkside, who drives a large armored car which fires multiple missiles at once. Players can choose one of 12 different vehicles with which to enter combat. Each vehicle has a distinct driver and special move. The controls consist of accelerator, brake, "tight turn" (essentially a handbrake) and turbo on the face buttons, with main weapons and machine gun selection and control on the shoulder buttons. Arenas are populated with weapon pickups to re-supply missile stocks, repair stations for repairing damage to your car, pedestrians, and course stewards armed with either machine guns or missile launchers. 75 /100 07 Tekken Tekken 1995 · 35 ratings The console version of Tekken adds more content to the original arcade game such as new characters and additional game modes. 71 /100 08 Destruction Derby Destruction Derby 1995 · 49 ratings With no rules, no limits and no pit stopping, anything goes in this collision course of crumple zones, hit & run mayhem, and street level slamming where wrecking your opponent's motor in ultra-realistic smashes and crashes is the name of the game. Take on the rigors of a full Championship season and pit your wits against a motley crew of psycho-waster racers such as the Suicide Squaddies, Skum and The Optician as you storm up the rankings from Rookie to Pro. Reckon you can handle it? Destruction Derby works with a serial link cable for two player head-to-head action. 70 /100 09 Star Wars: Dark Forces Star Wars: Dark Forces 1995 · 160 ratings The Empire stretches its evil clutches across the galaxy, consuming planets with devastating results. Through many struggles, the Rebel Alliance has learned of a new Imperial battle station, the Death Star, with enough power to destroy an entire planet. The evil Empire is secretly building a massive army to complete their arsenal of domination and render their reign of terror unstoppable. Kyle Katarn, a formal Imperial Stormtrooper must join the Rebel Alliance's covert operations division, and re-take the Empire from the inside, one battle at a time. Unlike many other Doom-based games, Star Wars: Dark Forces attempted a realistic approach: the missions followed a specific storyline, sometimes cut up by scenes to progress the narrative. Each mission had its own briefing and objective. The levels were designed to represent actual bases, mines, facilities, and other known places from the Star Wars universe, like Star Destroyer interiors, Jabba's ship, Coruscant, etc. 66 /100 10 Gex Gex 1995 · 46 ratings Enter your television to defeat the evil Rez by collecting remotes to open worlds inside your tv. You are a gecko with all the usual platform hero skills such as jump, fire and close range attack, but also suction cups to help you scale walls, a tongue to pick up those tricky to get power-ups and plenty of wise-cracks to keep you amused. Use them all to make your way through TV land searching for the remotes, collecting pickups, power-ups and killing TVs. 60 /100
