Creaks

The story begins in the bedroom of an unnamed protagonist, where the light suddenly flickers out and the wallpaper peels away to reveal a hidden tunnel behind the wall. Climbing down, he discovers a vast mansion-like structure sprawling within an enormous underground cavern. In this strange world he encounters aggressive monsters that freeze into harmless everyday objects whenever they are caught in the light, and he learns that a giant feline creature is slowly tearing the mansion apart. As he descends deeper, the protagonist meets a community of gentle bird-like people, each with their own approach to the looming threat: an elder searching for ancient knowledge, a fighter, a scientist, and a small pipe-headed mechanic who mends the damage. Together their fates become tied to stopping the monster that endangers their home.
